Jason R. AulaLOS ANGELES, California — On Tuesday, May 9th, 2023, pursuant to AB 361, the Signal Hill City Council continued to hold virtual meetings.
D&H Water Systems is in lieu of constructing a new disinfection station at Temple Reservoir for drinking water. The City Council approved an emergency contract with D&H Water Systems for $171,890. In addition, Councilmember Jones reported on the inspection of the Hover Dam and Colorado River Aqueduct sponsored by the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California during early May 2023. Councilmember Copeland delivered a report on representation at the Southern California Association of Governments regional conference in early May as well. Mayor Hansen presented a proclamation in honor of National Police Week. The Community Services Department provided a presentation celebrating Asian American and Pacific Islander Month. Also, Mayor Hanson presented a proclamation honoring the Public Works Department recognizing National Public Works Week. The City Council authorized the City Manager to contract with Conservations Corps of Long Beach for three years as approved by the City Attorney for $160,797. Pascal & Ludwig completed construction work to the satisfaction of the Public Works Department with a final cost of $3,143,765. City Council Members are compensated at a rate of $722.18 per month.
