Jason R. AulaLOS ANGELES, California — On Tuesday, October 11th, 2022, pursuant to AB 361, the Signal Hill City Council continued to hold virtual meetings. The council announced the appointment of Dr. Katherine Kim to the Parks and Recreation Commission. The partial term for the commissioner lasts until 5/31/2023. City Clerk, Carmen Brooks gave a presentation on pertinent information for the November 8 election. The Community Services Department provided a presentation commemorating National Hispanic Heritage Month about library programs. The interim city manager approved a Public Works Contract for up to $80,000 with Ruiz Concrete and Paving Inc. over 45 to 75 days. The council authorized an organizational assessment of the Signal Hill Police Department with Matrix Consulting Group for up to $50,000. In addition, the council authorized the Police Chief to enter into Automated License Plate Reader data sharing agreements with other law enforcement agencies or prosecutors' offices. The next regularly scheduled Signal Hill City Council Meeting will be held Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at 7:00 P.M. City Council Members are compensated at a rate of $694.14 per month.
