Signal Hill amends water agreement with the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California5/25/2022 Jason R. AulaLOS ANGELES, California — On Tuesday, May 24th, 2022, pursuant to AB 361, the Signal Hill City Council continued to hold virtual meetings. Mayor Keir Jones made a proclamation in recognition of Andrew Chang, a Signal Hill Community Foundation Board Member in honor of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage month. The City Council unanimously and with no opposition or comment from the public approved a water interconnection agreement amendment. The amendment permits the City of Lakewood to provide treated potable water at a 15% discounted rate instead of the regular rate with the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California as to the City of Signal Hill. The City Council will consider an ordinance at a June 28th, 2022, hearing, which mandates a Military Equipment Use Policy in regard to equipment considered military grade used by members of the Signal Hill Police Department. The next regularly scheduled Signal Hill City Council meeting will be held Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at 7:00 p.m. City Council Members are compensated at a rate of $694.14 per month.
