Jason R. AulaLOS ANGELES, California — On Tuesday, October 24, 2023, the Signal Hill City Council held an in-person meeting.
The City of Signal Hill amended it's master agreement to continue doing financial business with Wells Fargo Bank, N.A. In addition, to ensure municipal financial stability the City Council approved joining the California Asset Management Trust a.k.a. CAMP as a shareholder with publicly invested funds as a joint powers authority. Mayor Hanson presented certificates to Signal Hill Leadership Academy graduates. Signal Hill Librarian Charles Hughes presented as to commemoration of library programs celebrating Native Americans Heritage Month. Parks, Recreation, and Library Services Director, Yvette Aguilar introduced, new Management Assistant, Alyssa Christenson. The City Council authorized a Professional Consulting Service Agreement with Bureau Veritas Technical Assessments LLC (BVTA) of $50,937.05 from November 2023 thru May 2024 with a contingency of up to $25,000.00 over six months if necessary. BVTA is contracted to prepare Signal Hill's first Facilities Master Plan (FMP). Signal Hill Historical Society presented on it's funding plan and proposal for public artwork at Heritage Point Park. City Council Members are compensated at a rate of $722.18 per month.
