City Council appoints new Civil Service Commissioner

LOS ANGELES, California — On Tuesday, May 24th, 2023, pursuant to AB 361, the Signal Hill City Council continued to hold virtual meetings. 

The City Council declared its intention to levy and collect fees on the Landscape and Lighting Maintenance District within the California Crown Tract. Per, the Engineer’s Report there are ten percent increases requested for the basic lots as well as easement lots to be financed by the fund reserves or balance, set to be authorized at a June 13, 2023 hearing. 

Diana Phillips was appointed Commissioner by the council to the Civil Service Commission for the unexpired term through May 31, 2025. 

Mayor Hansen delivered proclamations to parks and recreation commissioner  Katherine Kim, planning commissioner Rose Richard, and outgoing Civil Service Commissioner Daritza Gonzalez. Community Development Direct Colleen Doan delivered thanks to volunteers of Mayor Hansen’s April clean-up event. In addition, Colleen Doan gave a presentation celebrating Building Safety Month. 

City Council Members are compensated at a rate of $722.18 per month.
