Jason R. AulaLOS ANGELES, California — CenterPoint Properties has acquired 9-acres of industrial property at 2550 Orange Ave. of Signal Hill, California from Signal Hill Petroleum Inc. CenterPoint plans to develop the Signal Hill property into a 100,147-square-foot warehouse, which includes facility amenities such as 17 dock doors and 73 trailer parking stalls.
“With both port volumes and ecommerce driving so much of the industrial demand in Southern California, the attributes we seek in our investments are the ones this portfolio has in abundance,” Ashley Vanacore, CenterPoint Properties’ investment officer, said in a statement. CenterPoint Properties is an Oak Brook, Illinois organization. Kidder Mathews’ Tom Holland, Justin Dornblaser and Alex Matar provided representation to CenterPoint. “We’re seeing almost zero percent vacancy coupled with unprecedented rent growth and land values,” Holland declared.

Jason R. Aula LOS ANGELES, California — Pursuant to AB 361, the Signal Hill City Council met virtually via Zoom. The Signal Hill City Council unanimously and with no opposition or comment from the public approved a zoning code amendment. The official zoning map changed, at a 2.56-acre portion of an 8.69 lot, at 2040 Walnut Avenue from Commercial Office to Light Industrial. The Signal Hill City Council is considering an ordinance in accordance with Senate Bill 9. SB 9 mandates a city ordinance of the Signal Hill Municipal Code Chapter 18.26, urban lots, with a maximum of two units which therefore may be attached or detached on a single-family lot. Notice of the ordinance was published per Government Code Section 65091(a)(4) and posted per Signal Hill Municipal Code Section 1.08.010.
