Signal Hill Librarian Charles Hughes presented as to commemoration of library programs celebrating National Hispanic Heritage Month. The City Council entered into a Public Works contract agreement with CJ Concrete Construction Inc. to work on the Sidewalk Repair Project for 64,851.00 approved by City Attorney Alshire, including an additional $15,419.00 project contingency provision and up to a 30-day extension. In addition, the City Council amended it's contract for engineering services with W.G. Zimmerman Engineering, Inc. by $64,800.00 bringing the total to not exceed cost at $1,248,800.00. City Council Members are compensated at a rate of $722.18 per month.

The Dominguez Channel, Los Angeles Harbor, and Long Beach Harbor need to be monitored for pollutants as to total maximum daily loads with cost shared. The City Council authorized the City Manager to enter into agreement with Los Angeles Gateway Region Integrated Regional Water Management Joint Powers Authority (GWMA) to fund the Harbors Waters Toxic Pollutants TMDL compliance reporting and monitoring plan. The agreement includes the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to share the cost of the implementation plan and administration. The City Council authorized payment for emergency water leak repairs near the Reservoir Park area from funds coming from within the Water Department Repair Budget. Also, the term period of agreement with Mariposa for landscaping services was extended for one year through October 2024 with compensation increasing to $539,941.13. Public Works Director, Thomas Bekele introduced Deputy Director of Public Works, Gabino Luna. City Council Members are compensated at a rate of $722.18 per month. |
