Jason R. AulaLOS ANGELES, California — On Tuesday, September 27th, 2022, pursuant to AB 361, the Signal Hill City Council continued to hold virtual meetings. During a closed session before the regular meeting, the city council deliberated a course of action to deal with pending civil litigation against the city. The council authorized the interim city manager to approve a Contract Services Agreement expansion with Swagit Productions, LLC for up to $111,900. Swagit Productions, LLC provides remote video streaming and hardware services for city council meetings. The city moved into compliance with state law by adopting the 2021-2029 General Plan 6th Cycle HEU. The HEU adoption positions the city to be better qualified for federal and state housing grants by complying with fair housing laws. The city will be able to develop housing and establish programs that comply with fair housing standards through about 2029 with the new HEU adoption. The next regularly scheduled Signal Hill City Council Meeting will be held Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at 7:00 P.M. City Council Members are compensated at a rate of $694.14 per month.

The council authorized the interim city manager to approve a professional consulting agreement with M&A for $54,781. City attorney Aleshire is negotiating contingency terms with Mariposa Landscapes Inc. ranging from $5,478 to $40,394. The council approved a 3.75-acre municipal specific zone for American University of Health Sciences and the American University of Research Academy (AUHS/AURA) in the heart of Signal Hill. The zoning changes from commercial office to AUHS/AURA specific. The council announced a vacancy on the Parks and Recreation Commission. The interview for the commissioner is at the November 8 council meeting. After interviews the council will make an appointment at the November 8 meeting. The next regularly scheduled Signal Hill City Council Meeting will be held Tuesday, September 27, 2022, at 7:00 P.M. City Council Members are compensated at a rate of $694.14 per month. Jason R.
